            Repetitive Socratic Questioning

A correctly worded question, repeated with acknowledgements to each response given, opens doorways into the mind, allowing a person to inspect his/her past decisions more closely, and to re-evaluate the correctness and desirability of those past decisions, regaining control and freedom over the area with each step - with each completed process.

Self-determinism, intelligence and ability return.

These questions address several major life areas.  Areas of case address and effective processing questions are selected based on knowledge of the mind and guided by life-affirming Philosophy (the word philosophy literally means, "love for wisdom").

Each area completed leads on to the next, in an upward spiral of personal growth through self-knowledge.

Power, conscience and reason are restored to the individual.

"When life becomes a battleground, your mind is your best weapon."

Repetitive Socratic Questioning can be the key to slowly, surely and safely unlocking doorways into long-closed areas of the mind.

Repetitive Socratic Questioning

Repetitive Socratic Questioning puts a special focus onto any subject needing to be addressed in therapy or self-reflection.  Used judiciously, it can help reach into areas of the mind that might not otherwise be accessible, bringing about new self-knowledge, one area at a time.

Origin:
Repetitive Socratic Questioning was conceived of by Jack Horner, a founding Dianeticist working closely with L. Ron Hubbard, around 1951.  It was used as a lighter approach to trauma therapy than going directly into traumatic incidents.  It remains a useful method for helping people become acquainted with their minds and themselves, in a light-gradient, but ultimately powerful approach to self-knowledge which also appears to accomplish a gradual reduction in severity of past trauma influence.

Repetitive Socratic Questioning offers a vast array of subject address, which effectively out-distances the limitations of ideologies which keep mental focus limited.  It makes for a truly philosophy-based therapy when allowed use in a setting where human freedom is valued.  Repetitive Socratic Questioning is the engine that made Scientology auditing work so successfully.  Its use in an authoritarian cult ($cientology) was limited not in effectiveness, but only in scope.  Only for this reason has it not yet seen its full potential.

The Alpha to Omega of Therapy
Repetitive Socratic Questioning ("RSQ") is as simple and powerful at the very beginnings of therapy, as it is at the very top levels of Inner Work therapy, where new abilities are expected to flourish.  This repetitive processing provides a safe, gradient approach to trauma therapy, allowing a person to safely explore the mind before having to confront past traumatic events.

Although the processes can be expected to run differently, according to the individual and his/her reactions, some of the simpler ones are suited for both early work and advanced work:

Existence Process:
WHAT IS?
WHAT ISN'T?

(Note that processes given together on this website without a line-break are usually alternating - one asks the first question, gets an answer and acknowledges it, then asks the second one, getting an answer, and then acknowledges it before returning to ask the first one, etc., until the person has a new realization about self or about Life.)

And somewhere in the middle of ones journey - (this one definitely not for the beginner) - one may find more complexly-worded questions:

WHAT PROBLEM HAVE YOU BEEN UNWILLING TO CONFRONT?
WHAT HAVE BEEN THE CONSEQUENCES OF THAT?

- which work far better - staying on the exact same subject area - when they are worded more in the positive:

WHAT PROBLEM WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO CONFRONT?
WHAT MIGHT YOU BE ABLE TO DO ABOUT THAT?

The above-two processes were just made up on the spot for this article - they have not been tested - but are given here so you can better get the idea.  Processes that have already been long in use will be featured on this website, and these are recommended to be done as needed, or alongside similar processes in the same subject area, to accomplish a "release" or a subjective - to some degree objective - "mastery" of an area of the mind.

These areas are generally here given in order of recommended sequence in increasing level of difficulty:

* SAFE-SECURE ORIENTATION
* CONFRONT
* HELP
* CONTROL
* COMMUNICATION
* INTEREST
* HAVINGNESS
* PROBLEMS
* MISTAKES-TRANSGRESSIONS-WITHHOLDS
* CHANGE
* UPSETS
* INVALIDATION
* INNER MANIPULATION AVOIDING TRUTHS
* FIXED IDEAS
* SELF-SERVING COMPUTATIONS
* CONFRONT OF EVIL
* HARMFUL ACTS & INTENTIONS
* ROLES & IDENTITIES
* WIN-LOSE GAMES
* CHARACTER
* SPIRITUAL ABILITY
* COMMUNION WITH THE DIVINE/INFINITE

Processes already exist for each of the above areas, and also can be adapted or developed for most any area of philosophical or spiritual interest.

You will find that when you can comfortably lead your client through his/her own, overwhelming difficulties and on to his/her true purpose, their interests in the outer world will expand, and you will often find them interested in not only further self-betterment, but expanding higher into the above areas of life interests and philosophical areas.  These eight Dynamics will be found on a more or less-expanding basis, to correspond not only to the chakras of the body, but to an increasingly expanding spheres of influence in the outer world:

1 - PERSONAL - INDIVIDUAL
2 - RELATIONSHIPS, MARRIAGE, FAMILY, CHILDREN
3 - GROUPS - TRIBES - TEAMS - RACES - NATIONS - HUMANITY
4 - CONSCIOUS-AWARE BEINGS - CENTERS OF INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY
5 - LIFE - PLANT & ANIMAL & LIVING BODIES
6 - PHYSICAL UNIVERSE - MATTER-ENERGY-SPACE-TIME
7 - THE SPIRITUAL - SPIRITUAL BEINGS
8 - ("0-8") SOURCE-INFINITY ("G-D")

And you will find some processes relating directly to these Dynamics, and all of them addressing one or more of these, whether specifically or generally.  These are the first subdivisions of life existence, divided into a spectrum very similar to that of a rainbow or a music scale.

Repetitive Socratic Questioning opens the door to a wide selection of focal points accessing the mind for the person's benefit and increased self-awareness.  It is the answer to applying the ancient philosopher's best, time-honored advice for happier existence:
